1. Explore: One Of Australia’s Best Waterfronts
Geelong Waterfront is a stretch of restaurants and cafes, beautiful landscaped gardens, attractions and public art facing the shores of Corio Bay. Take a stroll along one of Australia’s most stunning waterfronts or hop onto the Waterfront Train. With return trips from the Carousel to Eastern beach pools, the 20-minute ride lets you take in the wonderful sights of the waterfront. The train operates on weekends and during school and public holidays.

2. Explore: One of Australia’s Oldest Botanic Gardens
Continue along the Waterfront and discover the Geelong Botanic Gardens, the fourth oldest botanical garden in Australia dating back since 1851. With an amazing plant collection from around the world and plenty of open areas to lounge around, this makes it a great place for a picnic. Don’t forget the rug and snacks!
3. Explore: The Geelong Gallery
Established in 1896 the Geelong Gallery, has a magnificent collection of different artworks including sculptures and paintings. It is one of Australia’s leading and oldest regional art galleries and is such a special and integral part of Geelong’s history.
With seasonal exhibitions featuring both Australian and international artists, it’s a great way to spend a few hours indoors.
4. Eat: King of the Castle
Looking for good food in Geelong? Stop of at one of Geelong’s best cafes situated along the trendy Pakington Street. Kitchen opens from 7.30am to 3pm, so get there early as locals and tourists scramble for a table at King of the Castle. With a delicious array of choices featuring an all-day breakfast menu and good coffee, you’ll be spoilt for choice! After your meal, wander down ‘Pako’ and discover the many boutique stores on offer.
5. Eat: Box Office
Late afternoon calls for coffee and treats! Located at the edge of a carpark in a shipping container, the Box Office has a very laid-back atmosphere filled with plenty of spots #forthegram. Using only locally sourced produce and coffee from Axil Coffee Roasters, the menu boasts plenty of options for breakfast, brunch and sweet treats.
6. Eat: YeahBoy
Looking for Geelong’s most popular dinner spot? Yeah Boy is the place to be seen, and serves wholesome nourishing meals with plenty of choices for vegans too.
TIP: They serve some of the most amazing bowls and pizza’s in town! Our go to pizza (100% wholemeal and homemade) is the Lamb Pizza perfect for meat lovers and the Tofu Sexy Mexi is perfect for our vegans. Don’t forget to wash it down with a kombucha or cheeky Passionfruit Kombucha Mojito.
